TEACCH Training - Understanding and Treating Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Co-Morbid Anxiety

This workshop will focus on diagnosis and recognizing of learning characteristics of individuals with HFA and how they impact anxiety and emotional regulation. Treatment considerations will also be discussed including the Structured TEACCHing approach to improve abilities in the domains of social, communication and behavior. Strategies for assessing emotional regulation and developing coping strategies will be highlighted. Presenters will cover treatment interventions for adults; however, most of the interventions discussed will be targeting the child and adolescent population.


Advanced Topics Seminar

This three and a half day seminar is designed as continuing professional development for teachers, speech clinicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, or other professionals working in the field of autism. Topics addressed include extensions of content presented at the TEACCH Five-Day Classroom training as well as skills that will help professionals move beyond the basic implementation of Structured TEACCHing concepts. The format of this course is lecture, discussion, and case studies/ scenarios presented via video.  Limited to 30 participants!
