CURRENT VIRTUAL TEACCH TRAININGS:

Fundamentals of Structured TEACCHing is a nine-session virtual training that will provide participants with an overview of the learning styles of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Structured TEACCHing. Structured TEACCHing is based on the understanding of the symptoms and learning styles of individuals with autism and the use of visual supports to provide meaning, promote independence, and capitalize on the individual’s strengths. Participants will also learn antecedent-based behavior management strategies using Structured TEACCHing principles. The format of this workshop will include presentations, videos, interactive discussions based on case studies, and small group activities.

Early Learners Foundations of Structured TEACCHING is a nine-session training that will provide participants with an overview of the learning styles of young children (ages 3-5) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This workshop focuses on the implementation of Structured TEACCHing and naturalistic strategies which can be embedded into center areas and across classroom activities to provide meaning, promote engagement, and capitalize on the child’s strengths. Participants will also learn an antecedent-based behavior management approach. The format of this workshop will include presentations, videos, interactive discussions, and small group activities.

Strategies for Success in General Education is a six-session training that will focus on educating students ages 5-18 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), who spend the majority of their day in the general education classroom following the standard course of study. Participants will learn about the characteristics and learning styles of ASD and strategies to address educational and social-emotional issues that affect success in the general education classroom. The format of this workshop will include presentations, videos, interactive discussions based on case studies, and small group activities.

Employment Supports for Individuals with ASD is a virtual workshop will provide participants with an overview of the learning styles of adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Structured TEACCHing. Structured TEACCHing is based on the understanding of the symptoms and learning styles of individuals with ASD and the use of visual supports to provide meaning, promote independence at the employment site, and capitalize on the individual’s strengths. Participants will also learn an antecedent-based behavior problem-solving approach.

TEACCH Transition Assessment Profile (TTAP) is a seven-session virtual workshop that will focus on the administration of the TEACCH Transition Assessment Profile (TTAP), a comprehensive test that was developed for older children, adolescents, and adults on the autism spectrum, with a special emphasis on those with transitional and vocational needs. The TTAP consists of a formal assessment evaluating the following six major functional skill areas within three different contexts (direct observation, home, and school or work): Vocational Skills, Vocational Behavior, Independent Functioning, Leisure Skills, Functional Communication, and Interpersonal Behavior. The informal assessment is a tool for the development of appropriate transition goals and objectives within community-based instruction settings.

Beyond the Basics is a virtual four-day seminar is designed as continuing professional development for individuals who previously completed the Five-Day Hands-On Training. Topics addressed include extensions of the content presented at the TEACCH Five-Day Hands-On Training that will help professionals move beyond the basic implementation of Structured TEACCHing concepts as well as strategies for coaching and supporting other professionals. The format of this seminar is presentation, discussion, and case studies presented via video/scenarios with participants working in small, breakout groups to complete active learning assignments.
