Fundamentals of Structured TEACCHing for Autistic Adults (VIRTUAL) Meets on 4 Fridays
Fundamentals of Structured TEACCHing for Autistic Adults is a 12-contact-hour virtual training that will provide participants with an overview of the learning styles of autism and Structured TEACCHing. Structured TEACCHing is based on the cognitive characteristics of individuals on the autism spectrum and the use of visual supports to provide meaning, promote independence, and capitalize on the individual’s strengths. Participants will also apply Structured TEACCHing principles to address behavior by reducing stress and improving coping skills.
This virtual, four-session training will include presentations, videos, interactive discussions, small group activities, and weekly homework assignments. Feedback will be provided in small groups via selected homework assignments. The primary focus will be on residential and vocational settings for adults; however, teachers who work with students of transition age will also find it relevant.
