All Aboard the Santa Train!
The Museum of Life and Science is excited to offer another year of sensory friendly Santa Train rides for guests with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other similar needs. Our sensory friendly train rides will include no yelling in the tunnel and no whistle sound during the train’s ride. Some sounds and lights will be lowered. Additional staff and volunteers from the UNC TEACCH Autism Program will be on-hand to assist guests. Cool down kits, noise-cancelling headphones, and social narratives will be available upon request. Train rides after 6pm will return to full light and sound. If you are unable to ride at these dates and times, cool down kits, activity systems, noise-cancelling headphones, and social narratives will be available for all Santa Trains.
Please reserve these train times for the ASD community.
Your ticket purchase does so much more than help you make memories with your family. Proceeds from this event support the Museum’s mission to create a place of lifelong learning, where people from young child to senior citizen embrace science as a way of knowing about themselves, their community, and their world.
Climb aboard the Ellerbe Creek Railway for a journey to the North Pole. Enjoy a ride through thousands of twinkling lights as you make your way to meet Santa and his elves. Back at the station explore festive activities including:
