Facing your Fears Group (children ages 8-14 years)

The Chapel Hill TEACCH Center is now offering an evidence-based intervention for children ages 8-14 with high-functioning autism and anxiety. The “Facing Your Fears” Program is a group intervention model aimed at teaching both children and their parents strategies to cope with anxiety and fears.

Facing Your Fears is a 15 week group intervention. Each group will include 4 to 5 families. The sessions will be for the children and at least 1 parent. Participation in the group will involve an initial individual informal assessment, followed by 15 weekly group sessions. Group sessions will take place Thursday evenings from 4:30-6:00pm. The sessions will be for the child and at least 1 parent (the same parent must be available to attend all sessions). FYF will be billed as group psychotherapy. Our clinical services are provided as part of the UNC Health Care system’s UNC Faculty Physician’s group. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, some BCBS plans, State Health Plan, and we are in network for many insurance carriers.

Families who are interested in participating in this group, complete this REGISTRATION FORM and return to the Chapel Hill TEACCH Center. Mail or fax to mailing address or fax number below.
