Mary E. Van Bourgondien, Ph. D. works part-time at the Chapel Hill TEACCH center conducting diagnostic evaluations, individual intervention sessions, and co-leading the Dialectical Behavior Therapy group. In addition, she is involved in a variety of professional training activities as part of TEACCH’s local, state, national and international training efforts. Mary Beth has served as part of TEACCH’s leadership team in the past as the Clinical Director of the Chapel Hill TEACCH Center and the Raleigh TEACCH Center. She is also the Founder and former Director of the Carolina Living and Learning Center, TEACCH’s integrated residential and vocational training program for adults with autism in Pittsboro, NC. And she has done numerous presentations and publications on issues related to autism across the lifespan nationally and internationally. She is the co-author of the most recent edition of the Childhood Autism Ratings Scale- Second Edition (CARS2).
