Summary Statement: 

Halie Ellinger McMahon is an Autism specialist at the Chapel Hill TEACCH Autism Center and a Clinical Instructor in the UNC Department of Psychiatry. She is a licensed occupational therapist (OT) and works with individuals with autism across the lifespan and their families. Halie provides both individual and group-based services, including co-leading a Dialectical Behavior Therapy group. Halie is particularly interested in addressing gaps in support services for adolescents and adults with autism during their transition to adulthood, such as providing life skills training and mental health supports. Halie currently works on the TEACCH School Transition to Employment and Postsecondary Education Program (T-STEP) as a counselor and also serves on the HEELS 2 Transition Committee supporting the development of inclusive post-secondary programs at UNC for young adults with intellectual disabilities.
