During this one day workshop there will be presentations as well as discussions that focusing on how parents and caregivers can help their child transition more easily into middle school. Content of the workshop includes general information about middle school, accommodations and modifications, friends, bullying, stress, anxiety, relaxation, puberty, and hygiene.

Target Audience:

Parents of 5th graders with high functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome who will be headed into middle school next year.

Content:

This workshop is intended primarily for parents or other relatives of children with high functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome (in primarily inclusion school settings) who will be transitioning into middle school soon. There will be presentations as well as discussions that will focus on how parents can help their child transition more easily. Content includes general information about middle school, accommodations and modifications, friends, bullying, stress, anxiety, relaxation, puberty, and hygiene. Parents in attendance will receive a workbook to use with their child at home.

Cost:

In-state residents $50.00 per person;
Out of state residents is $100.00 per person.
This fee is due with your completed registration form.  Please do not bring unregistered family members.
Registration is based on a first come, first served basis due to limited space. Registration forms and payment are due by April 6, 2012.
Registration forms received after April 6, 2012 does not guarantee registration.

Changes and Cancellations

Cancellations received less than three business days are subject to a $25 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be granted after the program has begun. A substitute participant may be designated in place of a registrant who cannot attend. TEACCH reserves the right to cancel, post-pone or combine class sections; to limit registration; or to change instructors. TEACCH will make every effort to notify participants as soon as possible of any changes or cancellations. Participants should consider the possibility of change or cancellation when opting for non-refundable travel arrangements.
