Target Audience:This workshop is designed for general education teachers, special education teachers, teaching assistants, special education directors, psychologists, allied-health adult service providers and other interested professionals. Content:Since 1972, TEACCH has coordinated the nation’s largest statewide public based educational and treatment programs for persons with autism and related communication handicaps. With current educational mandates emphasizing least restrictive settings, many more children with autism and other related behavior syndromes are being served in public schools, thus creating a need for in-service training activities for teachers. In the past thirty years, TEACCH has made its training activities available to educational and adult services staff and other professionals from around the world. Objectives:At the conclusion of workshop, participants will be able to: Continuing Education Credits:Certificates of Completion containing Contact Hours will be available at the end of the workshop to participants attending ALL scheduled activities (no partial credits will be issued). Licensing boards, certifying bodies and regulatory agencies may differ in the way they recognize Contact Hours in fulfilling necessary professional credit. Participants should contact their local licensing boards to determine the appropriateness of Contact Hours toward professional development credits. (No continuing education credits are provided.)
